Day Two in NYC!!!

Day Three in NYC!!!

From SOW, 11/13/01 It says about when Laura told everybody about bringing in another Marah: "I'm so pissed off." Jordi Vilasuso (Tony) added, I've never met a 20-year old girl here in my life. She's had a huge impact on my acting and my lifeastyle since I've moved here. She told us, 'they are bring in another Marah to replace me.' I said, 'No They're replacing the character, but nobody's going to replace Laura Bell Bundy.' " What a sweet guy!

Jordi makes my local paper:

There is an article on Jordi in one of our local papers in the TV Guide section & it says:

Soap Talk

'Guiding Light' star pursues a dream

When he gets a few days off, "Guiding Light" star Jordi Vilasuso (Tony Santos) heads south to Miami, where he managed to spend a good part of this summer.

"I grew up there and my family is there," Vilasuso says. "I've been so busy with school and work this last year, that it felt good to get out of town and go down there. It's a very different place from New York."

After a year in Manhanttan, he is learning to love the city, too. "It's a great place for a young person who wants to step outside their own little world," he says.

His work schedule this fall is non-stop, but Vilasuso is making time to attend collage. "Im trying to get a liberal arts degree," he says. "I didn't take any classes this summer, which was a nice break, but I'm ready to get back into it."

The young actor says he eventually would like to own a production company and develop film and TV projects. "I'd say that's the ultimate goal for me."

On the November 17, 2000 episode of GL they played this song....So in my book it is a Tony Song!!!!

"Fly away by Lenny Kravitz

I wish that I could fly
Into the sky
So very high
Just like a dragonfly

I'd fly above the trees
Over the seas in all degrees
To anywhere I please

Oh I want to get away
I want to fly away
Yeah yeah yeah

Oh I want to get away
I want to fly away
Yeah yeah yeah

Let's go and see the stars
The milky way or even Mars
Where it could just be ours

Let's fade into the sun
Let your spirit fly
Where we are one
Just for a little fun
Oh oh oh yeah !

I want to get away
I want to fly away
Yeah yeah yeah

I want to get away
I want to fly away
Yeah yeah yeah

I got to get away
Feel I got to get away
Oh oh oh yeah

I want to get away
I want to fly away
Yeah with you yeah yeah
Oh Yeah !

I want to get away
I want to fly away
Yeah with you yeah yeah
I got to get away

I want to get away X4
Yeah
I want to get away
I want to fly away
Yeah with you yeah yeah
I got to get away

I want to get away X4
Yeah

I want to get away
I want to fly away
Yeah with you
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah"

On April 5,2001 - The reunion of Tony & Marah they played this song by the Back Street Boys titled "How do I fall in love with you"

"Remember when
We never needed each other
The best of friends
Like sister and brother
We understood
We'd never be
Alone

Those days are gone
Now I want you so much
The night is long
And I need your touch
Don't know what to say
Never meant to feel this way
Don't wanna be alone tonight

CHORUS

What can I do to make you mine
Falling so hard, so fast this time
What did I say, what did you do
How did I fall in love with you

I hear your voice
And I start to tremble
Brings back the child
That I resemble
I cannot pretend
That we can still be friends
Don't wanna be alone tonight

CHORUS - repeat

I wanna say this right
And it has to be tonight
Just need you to know
I don't wanna live this lie
I don't wanna say goodbye
With you I wanna spend the rest of my life

CHORUS - repeat

What can I do to make you mine

Some favorite's of Jordi's!!!!

Loves to travel & he told this to me personally!!!!

Favorite movie:

The Godfather is definitely my favorite then comes Raging Bull, a great film as well. I like all types of films, I like chick flicks, Terms of Endearment. The Professional is a great film. The films I like most are always story based. I don't really love the action packed films although I love Braveheart. I lean more toward films that explore the human condition, people trying to figure out what their mission in life is.

Favorite actors:

Marlon Brando (he's probably my favorite), Deniro, Ed Norton. As far as actresses go I think Natalie Portman is great. Meryl Streep of course is great also. But definitely Brando. The thing I like about Brando is that he always took chances. He never seemed to cool to do something completely off the wall. Sometimes you're going to take a chance and fall on your face but at least he took it, he took the risk. A lot of actors are afraid of looking cheap, pretentious or fake on TV.

Jordi's favorite pastime:

He is mad about movies!

Favorite Baseball Team:

Florida Marlins, but I've heard if had to choose a team in NY it would be the Yankees....Also, I heard he likes the Boston Red Socks!

Favorite TV show:

I like Conan O'Brien and The Sopranos.

Jordi says: I love The SOPRANOS.James Gandolfini is phenominal. Ilove the fact that HBO has wide screen format. It's like being in a theater."

Favorite Animal:

Monkeys!

Favorite Superhero & Jordi says it's Tony's also!!!

"Batman. That has to be the coolest role, ever."!!!

Here is just some facts on Jordi from 4/10/01 issue of SOD.

Last Move Seen At The Time: "Blair Witch II. What a terrible film."

Musical Taste: Hip-hop and rock

Now Reading: "A book on Meditation - I just finshed Tuesdays with Morrie."

Britney or Christina: "They're both hot, but I like Britney better."

Romantic Status: Single

Magazine Subscriptions: None. "But I used to get Maxim."

*Note some these are as of this time*

Here is a transcript of what was said in the 4/24/01 issue of SOD on page 40.

Jordi was asked certain questions and here are his answers:

Last CD Purchased? "Snoop Dogg's Tha Last Meal. If there's one type music I like dancing to in the clubs, it's hip-hop."

Last Concert? "Dave Matthews [Band] in Miami. I loved it. Those guys really have their own style."

Last Movie? "Traffic - it's now one of my favorite movies. Traffic was so real to me, and the performances were so simple. It really hit me and actually made me cry; it was that good."

What'cha Reading? "Story by Robert McKee - it's about screenwriting. I'm trying to get around to it, but I have school and all these [GL] scripts to read."

Anything New And Fun? "PlayStation 2. All my Friends have it. You have to get it. The graphics are sick. One day we were at this guys's house, and his father walked in and thought it was a real football game."

This is an interesting Tidbit Jordi said: during fishing boat trip he did with his castmates & others for CBS Soaps in Depth!!!

"I've been fishing for dolphins in the Florida Keys before," says the Miami native. "But I've never even heard of fluke."

BTW, this comes from the 10/30/01 issue of SOD & there is a great picture with this of Jordi...So hopefully you can still find it!..I read & got this one while I was in NYC!!!

Jordi's Favorite Hoilday Tradition!!! - Jordi Vilasuso (Tony, Guiding Light): Every Christmas all our family members, even those that we usually don't see much, come together in Miami. We all spend time together, and it's beautiful. In December, it's usually hot in Florida, but around Christmas time there's suddenly this Christmasy, winter smell; it's like burnt pine, and I always associate the holidays with that. And having the whole family unit together just brings about a feeling of real happiness and caring.

Jordi's Favorite Holiday Movie!! - Jordi Vilasuso (Tony, Guiding Light): A Christmas Story brings back great memories... Ralphie's BB gun, the Old Man's leg lamp and the friend who gets his tongue stuck to a telephone pole.

From Janauary 15, 2002 - SOD:

Q I've been looking for infornation on Jordi Vilasuso (Tony, GUIDING LIGHT). I think he is the best-looking guy I've ever seen. Do you have information on him?

A Here are some fast facts for you: Florida native Vilasuso began acting as a young teen (his first comercial Was for Tide detergent). The actor auditioned for GH, PASSIONS and AS THE WORLD TURNS before landing the role of GL's Tony. His first friend at the set was George Alvarez (Father Ray, whom Vilasuso met through a family friend just prior to starting on the show.

From SOD - 1/22/02:

Is Tony a typical teen?

"Well, he's a mob boss and went to the high school prom [luaghs]. In the beginning, I kind of judged it. I was like, 'What I am doing? How can I relate to this?' But by doing that, I was hurting myself and the work."

Who was your celebrity crush growing up? "God, there were so many. I used to watch FULL HOUSE, and the middle sister - Stephanie [Jodie Sweetin] - I had a crush on her and the friend [Kimmy, Andrea Barber; ex-Carrie DAYS OF OUR LIVES]. And of course, Tiffani [Thiessen, Kelly] from SAVED BY THE BELL, Zack's girfriend. It's all coming back to me."

What would you do if you weren't an actor?

"I don't know if I have much talent for it, but I would love to be a painter. I'm really influened by art. It inspries me, tantalizes me, takes me over. Sceince and math, blech. Mind you, my family is [comprised of] doctors and businessmen. So I am the weird gene."

Most embarrissing moment?

"One time, I drank too much, and I locked myself out of my apartment in my underwear. Nobody saw it, but it was embarrassing to myself."

Which book changed your life? "The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. It helped me when I was in Los Angeles chasing my dreams, living by myself and taking chances in life."

What's your favorite memory growing up?

"We used to go to this place in Florida called Ocala. My uncle had about a 250 acres of farmland. We used to go to Disney World first, then go to Ocala. You hear that kids always want to go to Disney World; we always Wanted to go to the farm and bypass Disney world."

If you were an ice cream flavor, what would you be?

"Everyone is chocolate, so I would be Haagen Dazs Dulce de Leche - it's my favorite."

From January, 15, 2002 CBS SID:

Star Talk!

?: When you were starting out, what's the best advice a veteran gave to you?

"Saundra Santiago (Carmen) told me, 'Have fun and don't forget to breathe.' You reallydon't have a lot of rehersal, so you just have to go with your gut. Have fun and don't take yourself so seriously."

Transcript of Yahoo! Chat with Guiding Light's Jordi Vilasuso (Tony) February 20, 2001

Although Laura Bell Bundy was scheduled to join Jordi on this chat, due to a family emergency, she was unable to participate.

ynrfan2001 asks: When did the both of you start working at GL?
Jordi: I tested out of Los Angeles. I auditioned and went to a call back with six other guys. Started working August 3 but my first air date wasn't until August 28. So it's been about six months or seven months.

princess_203 asks: Who would you say is your best friend at Guiding Light? By the way, ya'll are AWESOME!
Jordi: Thank you, that's very sweet. First I'd have to say that the guy who plays my brother, George Alvarez, has been like a brother to me. He's probably the person I confide in the most. He was the first person to invite me out. He's always got my back. We are both Cuban and Hispanic and very close. Paul Wasilewski, who isn't on the show anymore, we still hang out. Also Wesley Ramsey (Sam), he's a great guy also. We all hang out together. This city can be lonely. It's fun if you have somebody to hang out with but it can get a bit lonely if you're by yourself all of the time.

princess_203 asks: Jordi is this your first TV job?
Jordi: First I did commercials in Miami and Unsolved Mysteries when I was really young. When I moved to LA I had a small part on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Sarah Michelle Gellar got to kick my butt! Which was pretty interesting. This is my first major contract job on TV.

vitra_666 asks: What is the strangest fan experience you have had thus far?
Jordi: I haven't had any weird experiences, not really. Generally with fans I don't really know how to react. I try to stay humble and grounded. Acting is taken much more seriously in NY. It seems that in LA people get into acting much more for the fame or the attention which should be a result instead of something you're going after. Of course there are exceptions to the rule. I don't really know how to react to fans. I'm just myself and I'm really flattered.

truly_jordis_fan asks: Jordi, what advice would you give to someone your age who wants to follow in your footsteps, so to speak, in acting?
Jordi: I am very flattered by the screen name. Well, first be honest to yourself. You are always going to have people make you feel self-conscious. Don't take anything personal especially if you're going into film or television because it's not always about your talent, it might be about your eye color or your height or your weight or where you're from. Role with the punches. If you really want it, go for it.

maronyfan4ever asks: Laura and Jordi - How difficult was it for you two to do the hotel scenes where you were taking your clothes off?
Jordi: First off, Laura is the best. I have such respect for her as a person and as an actor. Definitely, acquired at first. But I feel that although it was for both of us our first really intimate love scene, the awkwardness worked at moments because even though I'm supposed to be this Casanova (or think I am) she's the first girl I've really gotten this close to. You really have to keep it light. I would sometimes crack jokes and make the best of it and be respectful. It was really a tough scene to do but since then I think our love scenes come off much more relaxed and we feel really comfortable with each other.

DeNiro asks: Jordi, what actors have inspired you? (TV or movies)
Jordi: Marlon Brando (he's probably my favorite), Deniro, Ed Norton. A lot of actors are afraid of looking cheap, pretentious or fake on TV.

wvbeauty20 asks: Tony, are you going to continue to fight for Marah?
Jordi: Tony and Marah's relationship will be a roller coaster ride for a long time because Marah is still growing up and dealing with her family and I am dealing with trying to leave my Mafia roots.

michele_santos asks: Jordi, will Tony leave the mob life behind for Marah?
Jordi: Possibly. It's really tough because if Marah continues to break Tony's heart, Tony will probably leave her. There's only so much pain a person can endure.

otowns_shy_girl_2001 asks: The Grammies are tomorrow. Are you pulling for anyone?
Jordi: Is Radiohead nominated? I will pull for them. Definitely Radiohead. Like what I said before about taking chances and coming up with original stuff.

virgilhs asks: Do you plan to stay with GL, for a while?
Jordi: My contract is for three years, well two-and-a-half now. I dunno, we'll see where the road takes me. Career wise I see it more as a stepping stone, a learning experience. I would love to work in film, I even go to the movies by myself, they're something I've been obsessed with since I was a kid. I'm hoping there will be other things but I can't complain. I am very happy.

roxanne_m21 asks: Hi guys! We love you both here in Canada (as well as the rest of the GL cast)! My question: Jordi, what's it like working with Paul Anthony Stewart (especially during that action-packed first episode of yours)?!
Jordi: Paul is a great guy. He is a phenomenal actor. He's always there for you. Very supportive. Always making sure he didn't hurt me in the action scenes. He and George were definitely great to me! Taught me a whole lot about how to handle the work load and acting in general.

cantuono asks: Jordi, who would you like to work with on GL that you haven't yet?
Jordi: I would love to work with Edmund. We had a small, small scene already but I love his work and also Prince Richard, I think he's great too. Pretty much anybody because I really think we have the best actors and we really love to work. No primadonnas and were always up for rehearsal, this is our first priority.

cantuono asks:
Jordi: I'm going back Friday. I try to go back every month. It has been a big adjustment even though I've heard it hasn't been that bad of a winter. For me, I am more of a tropical person. I love it hot and sticky and going to the beach everyday. I live on the beach in Miami, it's a great thing to go home and have that there.

princess_203 asks: What's your favorite movie?
Jordi: The Godfather is definitely my favorite then comes Raging Bull, a great film as well. I like all types of films, I like chick flicks, Terms of Endearment. The Professional is a great film. The films I like most are always story based. I don't really love the action packed films although I love Braveheart. I lean more toward films that explore the human condition, people trying to figure out what their mission in life is.

kellyemi asks: Hey Jordi! I absolutely LOVE how you are playing Tony. Have you worked with Kim Zimmer yet? You two would be electric!
Jordi: First time I worked with Kim, it may not have been the first time we worked together but it was one of my first days on the set and I was inMillenniumm, I was walking in and I was wearing these leather pants (which I hate wearing but for some reason they always put them on me) and she walks in and I didn't really know Kim that well already, we had been introduced but had never really talked, and she walks in the door and she says, "Hey, nice leather pants." which was totallyembarrassingg but hysterical.

Java_Joey asks: What do you consider the most challenging and most rewarding parts of your job as actors?
Jordi: In daytime, because the rehearsal process is limited as opposed to theater which I have done a lot of or film even, it's definitely being satisfied with your work and being able to say that yes I had a good day at work and having people respect your work. People tell me, not to sound conceited, but I hear 'Oh, you look great on TV.' And I think are they talking about the way I look or the way I am acting. Looking good comes from the help of makeup and wardrobe, but I wonder what's their point.

otowns_shy_girl_2001 asks: If you were not in the entertainment field what would be doing, college, or just following your dream?
Jordi: I am going to college. If I wasn't acting I think I'd still definitely be doing something in show business like writing or directing. My true passion, even though I love those things as well, is acting. I am very art oriented. Living in New York, it's so rich in every aspect, especially in the arts. I was at the Met the other day just sitting there in awe and loving it. I'm not an artsy-fartsy type, I'm just a guy who loves to act and loves art. I was undecided for a major but I'm wavering between art history and liberal arts.

Java_Joey asks: Jordi, what nationality are you? Your name is so interesting.
Jordi: Jordi is Spanish, Catalonian to be precise, it means George in Catalonian. Vilasuso is different because it has one 'l' and when we worked on our genealogy we could never find it with one 'l.' Both sides of my family come from northern Spain. My father's father is first generation Cuban and then my parents came over before Castro came. But we've determined that Vilasuso is supposedly from Northern Italy. My great-great grandmother was French, so I'm basically a mutt.

kellyemi asks: Sherrie, do you know what sign Jordi is?
Jordi: I'm a Gemini.
